Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Health Sync local tool and the health data it reads with Google account consent. The website privacy policy separately covers visits to these public pages. Health records and daily notes are not displayed here.

The tool requests read-only Google Health permissions for sleep, activity and fitness, and health measurements. Its current daily-note workflow reads sleep data, step count, distance, active calories, and exercise records, including average heart rate when present. Google account authorization also provides tokens needed for continued access.

These data are used to create or update a health summary in a local daily note. The tool does not use health data for advertising, sale, or public profiles. It does not write data back to Google Health.

OAuth credentials are stored in a restricted local application folder, separate from daily notes. Health summaries are stored in local Markdown files on an operator-controlled computer. The Health Sync website does not receive or host the health records, notes, or credentials. Google processes the account authorization and API requests.

Local notes may be included in device backups or processed by other tools the operator separately chooses. Those activities are outside this sync tool and depend on their own settings and policies.

The tool has no automatic deletion deadline for local notes. They remain until the operator deletes them or applies a separate retention process. Revoking Health Sync in Google Account connections stops future authorized reads but does not erase existing local notes or backups. The operator can remove the local credentials and the Health Sync sections of daily notes to delete those local copies.

The tool uses Google OAuth rather than collecting a Google password. Local credential files have restricted file permissions. Device security and backup settings also affect the protection of local notes. Only authorize the categories you want the tool to read; access can be changed or revoked through Google at any time.

Health Sync's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, and the applicable Google Health API policies.
